Hello Everyone,
2024 is starting out to be a pretty good year, don’t you agree?
There are some big changes coming to the Garden Project at FIFCC. The main one is that this will be my last year heading up the project. Therefore, I am looking for a replacement for next year and beyond.
I would like to lock someone in within the next 2 months, so that we can talk, set up a training schedule for this year and coordinate our efforts to continue making the FIFCC Garden Project a successful one for years to come.
The candidate that fills this position must be able to work with me throughout this year so that I can show him or her all of the ropes involved with having a successful Garden, including the following:
- Getting Donations from various sources
- Lining up Volunteers for the year to assist in all areas
- Choosing the Vegetable Plants at the Nurseries
- Preparing the Soil and surrounding areas for each year’s Planting
- Planting all of the Vegetables
- Weeding and Edging around and in the garden
- Watering the Vegetables
- Harvesting the Ripe Vegetables
- Removing the Dead Plantings in the fall
The amount of time that you will need to spend yourself will vary depending on how many volunteers you line up. Pastor Steve can make suggestions on who in the church might be willing to assist in various areas and give you their contact information. Also, the church has access to steady helpers from outside of the church.
So, if you think that you are interested in leading the Garden Project and continuing the tradition of supplying many great vegetables to the Food Pantry, helping countless individuals, please let us know.

You will not have to do all of the work on your own. I will teach you how to acquire volunteers to assist you throughout the year.
If no one steps up to take this on, then this will be the last year for the Garden at FIFCC. This is not something that any of us want.
So, please, if you have some time and ambition to take on the leading role in the Project beginning next year, than please contact one of us within the next 2 months, so that we can discuss the training.
